The research was bibliographic, documentary and exploratory, with a qualitative approach to contribute with the necessary actions for the best performance of the sector. In the analysis of the information flow was verified the need to improve the registration and availability of data in real time in the current National Sanitation Information System (SNIS). Furthermore, the delay in implementing the National Basic Sanitation Information System (SINISA) has hampered the collection, obtaining, systematization and dissemination of information in the planning and management of the sector.
